I’ve decided to make these for this year’s Thanksgiving! It was inspired by Red Lobster, because I heard it’s popular.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
garlic powder
salt
1/3 cup cold butter
3/4 cup shredded cheese
1 cup milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Combine all dry ingredients.
- Cut butter into small chunks. Using your fingertips, mash the butter through the dry mixture until crumbly.
- Mix in cheese and milk.
- Store batter in plastic wrap and put in refrigerator to cool. When ready to bake, use a cup or mould to form biscuits.
- For the garlic butter topping: add 1/3 cup butter, some garlic powder, oregano and salt.
- Bake for 12 minutes. Broil for 2 minutes. Yields 10.
- Spread garlic butter on top.
Notes
- Use a generous amount of cheese! I used a mix of a cheese blend and gouda.
- This can also be done in an airfryer at 400F for only 12mins
